Electronic Control Module

Elgin Motor Freight makes extensive use of sophisticated computer technology that is used to control the engines and transmissions of our modern fleet.

The Electronic Control Module that operates the engine’s fuel injection also allows us to capture and transmit a wide range of data, including rpm, fuel consumption, speed, idling, and emergency braking. By monitoring and analyzing the data, we can optimize the safety and efficiency of our drivers and trucks.

We conduct regular one-on-one feedback sessions with our drivers to point out areas where changes to driving patterns can reduce accident risk or decrease fuel consumption.  Because our objectives are to ensure that every driver completes every trip safely and efficiently, we have achieved excellent support and positive results from this program.
